Primary Course for Non-Japanese Applicants

The Primary Course is designed for people who have the strong will to build their careers in the field of peacebuilding and development to acquire the required practical knowledge and skills through participation in a 5-week Coursework in Japan.
This course expects to host around 12 participants from Japan and 10 participants from other countries.
Those from the following countries/ organizations are eligible to apply for this year’s program: the Republic of Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of South Sudan, the Republic of Turkey, Ukraine, the Republic of Columbia, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, the Republic of the Philippines, and the African Union Commission (AUC). Please note that for AUC, the application process is not open to the public and depends on arrangements with AUC.
Duration: January 18 (Thursday), 2023 – February 17 (Friday), 2023 (approximately 5 weeks)
* February 20 (Monday) and February 21 (Tuesday) are optional.
Venue: Tokyo and Hiroshima City
Participation Fee: No fees (except fees necessary for his/her participation online) charged for selected participants (including travel fees, traveler’s insurance, accommodation fees, and living expenses)

Mid-Career Course

The Mid-Career Course provides 7-day training to those who have about 10 years of work experience in the fields related to peacebuilding and/or development, in order to further advance their professional careers in particular at the United Nations and other international organizations.
Duration: January 5 (Thu) – 11 (Wed), 2023
Venue: Hotel in Tokyo
Participation Fee: No fees charged for selected participants
Application Deadline: October 7 (Fri), 2022 (9:00 AM Japan Standard Time)
