About the Program

The Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development (Global Peacebuilders Program)

We aim to Develop experts of Peacebuilding and Development.

The Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development (Global Peacebuilders Program) is commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA Japan) in order to enhance civilian capacity for peacebuilding and development.
The Program includes the Primary Course, designed for those who have the strong will to build their careers in the field of peacebuilding and development, the Global Career Course, targeting those who are currently not working in international organizations, but aspire to work there utilizing their professional work experience, the Mid-Career Course, targeting those who already have about 10 years of work experience in the field of peacebuilding and development and aspire to further advance their careers, and the Career Development Support, which offers an opportunity for the participants to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for obtaining posts of the field of peacebuilding and development in the UN and other international organizations, such as NGOs.
The Program is implemented by the Hiroshima Peacebuilders Center (HPC), which was commissioned by MOFA Japan to run the “Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development”. The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme administrates the Overseas Assignment component of the Primary Course.

We also manage the followings;

 

Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Candidates Pre-departure Training Course

We offer Japanese JPO Candidates information on the international organizations and their activities, skills to obtain assignments from the international organizations, preparing for assigned post and mock interview exercise for 4 days. We aim to improve their knowledge and skills for working as a JPO and securing official posts in the international organizations in the future.

Researching for Human Resource Trends

In order to provide appropriate guidance to participants of our course, and also for appropriate Career Development Support, we research and analyze trends relating to HR in the relevant international organizations including HR strategies and recruitment policies through contact with the senior HR officers of each organization.

 

Strengthening relationships with the overseas organizations

We build relationships with overseas human resource development and training institutions as well as think tanks that implement advanced initiatives and engage in research, analysis and cooperation with these institutions.
