Completion of the Coursework in Japan of the “Primary Course”

The six-week long Coursework in Japan of the Primary Course, which started with commencement ceremony on January 12th, ended on February 24th, 2018. In addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge required in peacebuilding and development from diverse facilitators engaging actively at the forefront of the relevant fields, the Program Associates were also rewarded with opportunities to review their own competencies through practical exercises and the interaction with facilitators working at international organizations.

Japanese Program Associates will soon be dispatched to the field offices of international organizations under their one-year Overseas Assignments as UN Volunteers while non-Japanese Program Associates have already returned to their home countries. Each Program Associate is expected to become an expert in peacebuilding and development making the best use of the lessons learned from the Coursework.
